Riley Lecka is a Project Manager with North State Environmental, a restoration company that has worked in over 23 states and completed over 1MM of stream work and 1,000 acres of wetland work. He started working with North State Environmental in 2009 as an equipment operator, and his hard work and understanding of stream processes resulted in his promotion to foreman and then Project Manager. Riley has completed Applied Fluvial Geomorphology (Level 1), River Morphology and Applications (Level 2) and River Assessment and Monitoring (Level 3), and has worked on over 90,000 feet of stream restoration in 9 states.
Riley has completed many different types of stream and wetland restoration projects across the US. When he was 15 years old, he became interested in rivers and how they worked, and he also experienced the creative solitude that he found working on restoring them. His work on rivers and streams have allowed him to find the delicate craft of creating river features, habitats for fish and benthic organisms. His work in streams and travels across the country to complete stream projects has greatly influenced him and the person that he is today.
