Ready to Upgrade From CERPIT to CERP?

If you are an active Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner-in-Training (CERPIT) and have met the requirements necessary to upgrade to CERP (as outlined in your CERPIT acceptance letter), you are eligible to upgrade to CERP status. Typically, this indicates that you meet CERP knowledge base requirements and have accumulated 5 years of full-time restoration experience. Upgrading to CERP solidifies your status as an expert in the field of ecological restoration who is committed to a high standard of practice and professional development.

Apply for a CERP Upgrade

Complete each of the steps below to submit your upgrade application to SER for review.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis year-round. Applications received by April 30 will be reviewed by June 30; applications received by October 31 will be reviewed by December 31.

Step 1: Pay the Upgrade Fee

An initial upgrade application fee is due with submission of a full application. The initial application fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of your application. Once certified as a CERP, your credential is active for 5 years with the successful completion of all continuing education (CEC) requirements. Enrollment in Automatic Recurring Charges CERP/CERPIT is a 5-year commitment - by paying the upgrade application fee, you will automatically be enrolled in recurring payments that will be charged once a year for the next four years to cover the CERP annual maintenance fee. If your upgrade application is denied, you will continue to receive recurring charges for your CERPIT application fee. If you need to change your payment method, or would like to pay via check or wire transfer, please email Megan, Membership and Marketing Associate, at megan.taylor@ser.org. Explanation of Fees The schedule of upgrade and CERP annual maintenance fees is below. Equity and Open Door rates are available for individuals who could not otherwise afford to apply to the CERP program. SER Business, Lifetime, and Restorer members receive deeper discounts on the member rate. Only SER members with an active membership are eligible for the reduced rates listed.

To pay your upgrade application fee, click on the link in the left column of the fee table below that corresponds to your SER membership type. For example, if you are a standard SER member, click on the "Standard SER Member" link to pay the corresponding application fee. If you are NOT an SER member, click on the "Non-member" link to pay the corresponding fee. If you have questions about your membership type or which application fee you should pay, please contact membership@ser.org.
