SER is pleased to present a variety of publications about ecological restoration. We regularly produce documents and reports, both independently and in partnership with other entities, ranging from white papers on specific topics to guidelines and standards for practitioners. Additionally, we serve field of ecological restoration with three different journals, more than two-dozen titles in our Island Press book series and our own newsletters.
SER publishes stand-alone documents to address information gaps within the field, including the International Standards for Ecological Restoration, our International Primer on Ecological Restoration (available in 8 languages), our co-published (with Parks Canada and IUCN) Guidelines to Ecological Restoration in Protected Areas and more..
The Society’s online only bi-monthly scientific and technical peer-reviewed journal is edited by a distinguished panel and fosters the exchange of ideas among the many disciplines within ecological restoration. Restoration Ecology is at the forefront of a vital new direction in science, ecology and policy.
Island Press/SER Book Series
“The Science and Practice of Ecological Restoration” serves as a tool to advance both the science and practice of restoration. With topics that range from in-depth technical knowledge on restoration techniques to philosophical overview of the field as a whole, the series helps bridge the gap between practitioners and scientists.
In addition to SER’s own journal, Restoration Ecology, we also offer members a discounted subscription to two excellent partner publications. You can subscribe to either or both of these journals when you join the Society or renew your membership.
SER’s quarterly members-only e-newsletter provides members with a dynamic update on SER's many activities, programs and initiatives. The newsletter is also archived online easy, accessible format.
SER’s monthly newsletter highlights news from the world of ecological restoration, newly published articles from our journal Restoration Ecology, opinion pieces, blog posts and more. The newsletter is available for both members and non-members.
