SER and our members engage in restorative activities around the world. From our Standards-based Restoration in Action program and Make a Difference events, to the work of our members in ecological restoration research and project implementation, the SER community is involved in reversing damaged and degraded environments across diverse ecosystems, communities, and scales.

Standards-based Restoration in Action
SER provides technical and field support to implement ecological restoration projects in communities around the world. Projects as part of this program are designed using a standard-based approach to ecological restoration to support both nature and people. They are implemented by local or regional SER members, in partnership with local community members .

Restoration Stories
Restoration Stories share the experiences, successes, and challenges of real ecological restoration projects from around the world. Some stories might be comprehensive, from conception to post-restoration monitoring, while others might take a deep dive into one phase of the project. They are designed to enable practitioners and researchers to share lessons learned, outcomes, and more about the process of their restoration work. Beginning in 2023, Restoration Stories also have a specific focus on standards-based restoration projects being implemented in partnership with SER.

Make a Difference Week
Launched in conjunction with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, Make a Difference Week is an annual global restoration volunteer event. Make a Difference Week events are organized by local hosts to involve the community in hands-on restoration activities taking place close to where they live, work, and play. Through Make a Difference Week, everyone, everywhere has a chance to positively impact their local communities, and by rolling all of these projects together over the course of one week, we can see that acting local creates true global impact.
