Members in Action: Magda Garbowski

Magda Garbowski is the Student and Emerging Representative to the SER Board of Directors. She is a PhD student studying Invasion and Restoration Ecology, and her current research focuses on using functional traits as predictors of plant establish success under varied environmental conditions. She has served as treasurer, vice-president, and president of the SER club at Colorado State University. In both her research and outreach, Magda is committed to promoting restoration of degraded systems for environmental and societal benefit.
Last month, Magda led a webinar for students and emerging professionals (SEP) in the SER community to begin fostering communication and sharing information about current benefits and programs and services in development.
"This group of individuals is vital to promoting the science and practice of ecological restoration, connecting newcomers with established leaders in the field, and integrating new ideas with accepted restoration practices."
