SER created the e-learning course "Overview of the Practice of Ecological Restoration" to 1) introduce the science and practice of ecological restoration, 2) convey the fundamental principles of ecological restoration, 3) synthesize key concepts in ecological restoration science and practice, and 4) create consistency in the understanding and use of key terms and concepts.

SER works to develop forward thinking materials that advance ecological restoration policy and practice in the field. Through partnerships with international entities, authors, Island Press, and within our own organization, we’ve developed a variety of guidance documents, reports, and books, as well as international standards for restoration and our bimonthly high-impact journal Restoration Ecology.

SER hosts a monthly webinar series focused on a diverse mix of emerging topics in the field of ecological restoration. SER’s webinar series includes sessions with researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers from around the world, with participation from thousands of attendees annually. SER’s Academic Program Directory provides users with a filterable list of academic institutions that offer degree programs or certificates related to restoration ecology. The Academic Directory also includes a list of CERP-aligned programs, which have been reviewed by SER and whose degree requirements align with Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner-in-Training (CERPIT) knowledge base requirements.

SER’s Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) Directory is an interactive list of practitioners who have been certified through SER’s CERP program. It allows users to easily connect with or verify the credentials of these practitioners through a simple name search.
