New Era, New Voices in Restoration Ecology

Announcing Re-New

As the Society for Ecological Restoration’s journal Restoration Ecology looks forward towards the new era – the next 25 years to its eventual Golden Jubilee - we have a great opportunity and need to hear from the next generation of restoration ecologists. As younger generation continue to chart new, more environmentally responsible paths forward, your voices are more important than ever.

On this Earth Day, April 22 2019, Restoration Ecology announces RE-New – this is a dedicated vehicle for soliciting and encouraging early career restoration ecologists to write about new thinking about the future of restoration ecology. These should be idea-driven rather than technical pieces.

Students (of any level), postdoctoral researchers, research associates, or early career practitioners or academics (normally within 5 years of starting your first post-educational job, but this is negotiable) are invited to submit idea-focused, short communication style manuscripts (about 2000 words).

Our goal is to ensure new voices have a strong presence in the pages of Restoration Ecology.

Those considering sending a submission are strongly encouraged to correspond with the Editor-in-Chief, Stephen Murphy; this is mainly to help develop submissions for prompt review.
