The Science of Hope 0 R. Monico On occasion I have heard that people refer to the science of restoration ecology as the science of hope. I found this thought interesting because I had never considered myself a student or practitioner of hope. Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen; which can fit with ecological restoration and the desire to restore specific ecosystem services or traits to an area.  My question, and it is out of curiosity, is this:  Do you consider ecological restoration the science of hope and if so why?

Restoration, Rehabilitation, Reclamation 0 R. Monico In a changing world many of us are entering the work force as new practitioners and I am consistently asked which is better restoration, rehabilitation or reclamation my answer is usually that it depends on the situation and the target goals set by the client / organization. My question to the group is what would your response be to that question?
