Description: While progress has been made in integrating environmental justice into restoration, improvements can still be made.  To better address the needs of underserved and vulnerable populations when making restoration decisions, we can integrate the sociological concept of the human’s hierarchy of needs and the First Nations concept of cultural perpetuity.  Utilizing this framework will help conservationists simultaneously accomplish successful and enduring restoration related activities, achieve environmental justice goals, and further development of sustainable society.
