Regular conference registration includes all general and breakout sessions on Saturday, the awards banquet on Saturday, and the (n)ERD (Notorious Ecological Restoration Discussion) session on Sunday morning. All meals and snacks on Saturday are provided, as well as breakfast on Sunday. If you wish to attend the student/young professionals roundtable and Bayou Bash mixer on Friday night, the Friday afternoon workday at University of Houston Coastal Center, the Friday afternoon tour of The Nature Conservancy Texas City Prairie Preserve, or guest tickets to either of the evening events, you may add those at the time of registration.

As Sea Star Base Galveston is a facility for youth camps, they have ample lodging available on-site! Whether you’re looking for a campy communal experience or prefer to keep to yourself, we can offer economical on-site lodging to give you the conference experience you want. The same weekend as the conference, there will be a large anime convention in Galveston. Many hotel rooms are already booked or prices have increased to reflect demand. Please keep this in mind as you make your lodging arrangements!
One side of a dormitory. Save your place in one of these rooms for only $100 for the entire weekend!
For $100, you can stay for Friday and Saturday night in a shared dormitory that sleeps up to 8. These rooms have 4 sets of twin bunk beds, lockers, and a desktop area. Behind a lockable door is a toilet and shower, for one person’s use at a time – no awkward walking around in a towel! Be sure to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, or twin-size linens.
The communal area shared between 5 private rooms. Reserve your suite room for only $200 for the entire weekend!
Private rooms are available for $220 (Friday and Saturday night included) in a suite arrangement – 5 private rooms share a communal kitchen/living area and single-person bathroom with a shower. Each room has 1-2 bunk beds in it, but for privacy only one person will occupy each room. Be sure to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, or twin-size linens. There are only a total of 25 suite rooms available, so save your spot early!
Restoration Workday at University of Houston Coastal Center
Learn about current restoration activities at the University of Houston Coastal Center while you enjoy lunch, then get your hands dirty with a restoration work project! Participants will meet at UHCC at 11:30am at 5721 Highway 2004, La Marque, TX 77568. Carpooling is encouraged. Lunch and tools for the workday will be provided, but please bring work gloves if you have a pair.
Tour of The Nature Conservancy Texas City Prairie Preserve
Learn about prairie management, TNC’s seed increase project, living shoreline restoration, and much more as you tour the Texas City Prairie Preserve. Lunch and a driving tour will be provided. Participants will meet at the preserve at 4702 Hwy.146 N., Texas City TX, 77590 at 11:30am. Carpooling is encouraged.
Mix and mingle at Bayou Bash, the Friday night social event for the 2019 TXSER conference. We’ll gather at the Solar Pavilion at Sea Star Base Galveston to enjoy food, drinks, games, and beautiful views of Offat’s Bayou. Food and beverages are included in ticket price. If you’re in the beginning stages of your career, come early at 6pm for a discussion with other students/young professionals and consider your future options with representatives from public, private, and academic sectors.
