Wetlands of the Chicago Region will cover several types of wetlands found across the Chicago region. These remnant wetland landscapes vary tremendously, from minerotrophic discharge seeps, to oligotrophic glacial lakes – from palustrine marshes, to bogs. The seminar will be an intensive field study of numerous remnant landscapes, with an emphasis on how soils, geology, and floral composition influence our region’s wetland habitats.
