This conference will address of variety of themes concerning habitat restoration. Included in these topics will be establishment of pollinator habitat in woodlands, restoration of woodland habitats through thinning and prescribed fire, establishment of habitat in urban settings, faunal responses to large scale restoration, and pollinator habitat for butterflies.

Oftentimes, restoration has concentrated on developing a plant community that fits a preconceived image of a prairie, wetland or woodland with too little regard for the structural and seasonal requirements of organisms of conservation concern. This seminar will focus on restoration targeting the habitat requirements that will maximize the usefulness for the targeted fauna, including birds, mammals, herps, and pollinating insects.
