Geum Environmental Consulting, Inc., in cooperation with The University of Montana and Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration, will teach a workshop about effective ecological restoration monitoring this coming spring. Instructors are Cara Nelson, Associate Professor of Restoration Ecology; Amy Sacry, Senior Restoration Ecologist; and Tom Parker, Principal Ecologist. Topics will include (1) developing a solid framework for monitoring and adaptive management linked to project objectives; (2) appropriate scale and level of effort so monitoring produces useful information in a cost-effective manner, and quickly enough to support course corrections if needed; and (3) statistically sound sampling design and data analysis techniques.
