This botany workshop is open to adults with beginning or intermediate knowledge of plant identification who would like to learn the Keweenaw's flora and enjoy other natural and historical features of the area at the same time. Instructor and botanist Janet Marr has extensive experience studying plants across Isle Royale and Michigan's Upper Peninsula and has taught 13 botany workshops on Isle Royale. Plant communities, rare species, ecology, invasive species, and use of dichotomous keys will be discussed during field trips to different habitats in the Keweenaw.
