Conferences (in chronological order)
Two Day Introduction to MesoHABSIM Instream Data Collection and Modeling
This introductory course is intended for decision makers and conservationists who want to have good understanding of the method but do not plan to hands-on use in the near future. We will teach the basics of data collection techniques within the MesoHABSIM framework, analysis and interpretation. Course participants will have any opportunity to conduct stream habitat mapping with a Pocket PC, use the grid electrofishing technique, learn about multivariable habitat suitability criteria for native fish species, habitat suitability maps, habitat-flow rating curves and habitat time series analysis (UCUT Curves). We will teach interpretation of flow augmentation scenarios and simulation for determination of habitat improvement measures.

It will teach the basics of data collection techniques within the MesoHABSIM framework, data processing with MesoHABSIM software and the creation of GIS habitat models. Course participants will have any opportunity to conduct stream habitat mapping with a Pocket PC, use the grid electrofishing technique, compute multivariable habitat suitability criteria for native fish species, create habitat suitability maps, create habitat-flow rating curves and habitat time series analysis (UCUT Curves), develop flow augmentation scenarios and simulate habitat improvement measures. This course also includes hands-on training in Sim-Stream07 software.

20th Annual Nonpoint Source Pollution Conference
Since 1990, New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC), in partnership with its member states, has been coordinating the Annual Nonpoint Source (NPS) Pollution Conference, the premier forum in our region for sharing information and improving communication on NPS pollution issues and projects. The three-day conference brings together all those in New England and New York State involved in NPS pollution management, including participants from state, federal, and municipal governments, private sector, academia, and watershed organizations.

Hudsonia Course: REPTILE AND AMPHIBIAN SURVEY METHODS.
On 21 and 22 May 2009 at Staatsburg (Dutchess County), New York, Hudsonia is offering a special two day professional workshop in Reptile and Amphibian Survey Methods. This course is designed for biologists, consultants, environmental planners, land managers, instructors, and students who want an intensive introduction to survey methods and the herpetofauna of the Hudson Valley, New York metropolitan area, and other northeastern regions.

The Ecology and Management of Atlantic White-Cedar (Chamaecyparis thyoides) Ecosystems
The symposium will address approaches used to characterize and/or monitor Atlantic White-Cedar (AWC) ecosystem hydrology, soils, biogeochemical cycling, nutrient fluxes, plant physiological ecology, biodiversity, genetics, pathology, wildlife biology, threatened and endangered species, fisheries and aquatic resources, silvicultural techniques, paleoecology, bird conservation, taxonomy, culture practices in nurseries and the field, regional issues, and ecological conservation/integrity at the local and landscape scale. Maine Coastal Waters Conference 2009
Join us in fall 2009 for an exciting event – the second "Maine Coastal Waters Conference". This all-day event will feature informative talks about issues of concern to those who manage, study, and love the Maine coast. A morning plenary session will introduce attendees to the major conference themes, while afternoon breakout sessions will allow participants to delve into topics of interest in greater detail. Lunch, a poster session and a post-conference reception will allow for important networking time.
