Ecological Restoration Reading Resources

The following are just a few of the resources SER has initiated to advance the science and practice of ecological restoration:

The Science & Practice of Ecological Restoration Book Series

This book series is an initiative between SER and Island Press to develop and publish texts that further the field of ecological restoration. The series currently includes 26 available titles. For more information, click here.

SER Primer on Ecological Restoration

Currently available in six languages, the SER Primer is our most downloaded resource. It is a concise statement of restoration principles and includes a clear definition of what restoration is, how it is planned, conducted, and evaluated, and how it coordinates with related disciplines.

(Available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese)

Guidelines for Developing and Managing Ecological Restoration Projects

This valuable resource was compiled for restoration practitioners. For more information, click here.

(Available in English, Italian, Portuguese)

Global Rationale for Ecological Restoration

In collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature
(IUCN), SER has issued a call to action elucidating why ecological restoration is an important means of conserving biodiversity and sustaining livelihoods. Click here for more information.
