New! Final Meeting Program - 2012 Annual Chapter Meeting. We are pleased to announce that the final meeting program for our upcoming Chapter Meeting in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 4 to May 6, 2012 is now available. Our scientific agenda includes a keynote presentation by Helen Taylor (State Director The Nature Conservancy-Michigan), a plenary session on restoration of suburban and urban habitats, two symposia, two workshops, 21 poster presentations, 36 oral presentations. Additionally, our meeting hosts will offer a joint plenary and field tour that focuses on the conservation and restoration of the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake. We also have three offsite field trips planned to restoration sites in Michigan. Click here to download the final meeting program.
Pre-registration is open - 2012 Annual Chapter Meeting. Pre-registration for the upcoming Chapter meeting is now open. We encourage everyone to register early to receive the best meeting registration rates. Pre-registration closes 4/27/2012.
Call for Abstracts - 2012 Annual Meeting MWGL SER Chapter. Our theme for this year's meeting is "Connecting People and Nature with Restoration" and our goal is to explore the critical linkages among people, nature, and restoration and to consider the implications of these relationships for fostering healthy communities, preserving diverse ecosystems, and improving our ability to repair and restore damaged ecosystems. The deadline for abstract submission was March 9, 2012.

Chapter Board of Directors provides SER with feedback on developing an ecological restoration certification program. The Chapter Board of Directors recently provided SER with our suggestions on long term considerations for SER to consider that would enable the development of a unique ecological restoration certification program. Save the Dates - 2012 MWGL SER Chapter Meeting. We are pleased to announce that the 2012 Midwest-Great Lakes Annual Chapter Meeting will be held on the Ann Arbor, Michigan campus of the University of Michigan at the School of Natural Resources and Environment from May 4 to May 6, 2012. Our meeting hosts will be the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources & Environment and the Matthai Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum.

Summary of Chapter Activities Presented at SER 2011. Chapter Officers Rocky Smiley, Jennifer Lyndall, and Hua Chen developed a poster presentation that was presented at the SER 2011 World Conference on Ecological Restoration in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico from August 22 to August 24, 2011. The poster presentation summarized the activities of the MWGL SER Chapter in the past three years and used this information to develop recommendations for promoting ecological restoration.
