The Science of Hope
On occasion I have heard that people refer to the science of restoration ecology as the science of hope. I found this thought interesting because I had never considered myself a student or practitioner of hope. Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen; which can fit with ecological restoration and the desire to restore specific ecosystem services or traits to an area.
My question, and it is out of curiosity, is this:
Do you consider ecological restoration the science of hope and if so why?
