 Learn the essentials of wetland ecology and the management techniques necessary to maintain threatened wetland ecosystems. Wetlands are critical habitats in the Great Lakes region. Today, these ecosystems are threatened by encroaching development, invasive species, and pollution. Discuss the principles of wetland ecology underlying restoration practice, visit sites that represent different stages of restoration, and explore the management of these systems.This class can be taken as a component of the Woodland Stewardship Program in natural areas management.

This course is pre-approved for 6 continuing education credits under the CERP program.
