REPORT                                                                                                                     SER Summer School 2009 (29/06-03/07/2009, Münster, Germany)Introduction of species and management of biodiversity in restoration projects' 

20 PhD students from 8 European countries joined the course. Apart from lectures given by 16 experts from Germany, England, The Netherlands and France there were excursions to various restoration projects in the surroundings of Münster. The field trips covered a wide range of habitats such as rivers and floodplains, secondary wetlands, wet meadows, limestone quarries and bogs. The numerous applications (50) as well as the enthusiasm and commitment among the participants underpinned a high and increasing interest in restoration ecology in Europe.
