SER and Island Press Book Series: The Science and Practice of Ecological Restoration
View Full Book List
SER is pleased that its collaboration with Island Press has produced a book series that provides a foundation of practical knowledge and scientific insight to help ecological restoration become the powerful reparative and healing tool that the world needs. Highlighting important advances in the natural, physical, and social sciences, the series offers both individually authored titles and well-edited collections of papers which address terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems at all scales.
Island Press, a nonprofit publisher, has published a number of distinguished volumes in ecological restoration since 1996. “Ecological restoration has been a priority for Island Press since the 1980s,” states Island Press Executive Editor Barbara Dean. “Since SER’s founding, we have regarded ourselves as part of the SER community, with shared goals and interests, and we have been impressed with SER’s vision, leadership, and expertise as the field has evolved. We are tremendously pleased to formalize our relationship by collaborating on this innovative book series, which we are confident will provide essential information, guidance, and support for the diverse and growing audience involved with ecological restoration research, teaching, and practice.”
