Events and Announcements

We are pleased to announce that the Society for Ecological Restoration International Board of Directors has approved the Midwest-Great Lakes Chapter! The organizing committee is working hard to draft bylaws for chapter approval, encourage membership, and plan the first annual meeting. In addition, the first newsletter will be coming soon!

Chapter Objectives

The objectives of the MWGL Chapter are:

  • To encourage practice and research in all aspects of ecological restoration;
  • To disseminate scientific and technical information related to ecological restoration through meetings and publications to Chapter members, state/federal agencies, tribal groups, private institutions, and the general public; and
  • To assist the Society in the development of technical and ethical guidelines for ecological restoration.

Additional purposes and objectives may be added as an amendment to the chapter bylaws. All purposes, objectives and activities pursued by the MWGL Chapter are in agreement with SER foundational principles (i.e., Primer on Ecological Restoration, Guidelines for Ecological Restoration, Environmental Policies, and Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Livelihood).
