2009 Greenbelt Administration/Conservancy Youth Stewards Internship Program
The Youth Stewards is a leadership and youth development program that focuses on environmental conservation and natural resource management in Staten Island Greenbelt. Candidates have the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects including forest restoration/vegetative assessment and mapping/and trail maintenance.
Candidates should have an interest in the natural sciences with an emphasis on applied ecology. Candidates must be college-bound or college-enrolled in a relevant field of study (i.e. ecology/environmental science/natural resources management/forestry/biology). The program will operate for approximately 25 weeks from September/2009 through March/2010.
Candidates must be willing and able to perform strenuous physical labor in diverse environmental conditions (heat/cold/rain/mosquitos/etc…).
35 hour work week for the duration of 25 weeks. Salary: $10/hour
