OFFICE LOCATION

Dune Restoration Crews will be based out of an office in Frankfort/MI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Crew Leader position will supervise up to a 9 person crew to implement invasive species removal and dune restoration at sites located along the Lake Michigan shoreline in the Northwest Lower Peninsula of Michigan. S/he may also work with volunteers/other TNC employees/The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy (GTRLC)/The Leelenau Conservancy (TLC)/Michigan DNR/and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (SLBE) to assist with dune and shoreline restoration.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma and 6 months of related experience.

- Experience operating various types of equipment.

- Experience performing physical work.



ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

B.S. in biological sciences or natural resources with successful biological management work experience in the field/or combination of successful biological management work experience in the field and college course work in biological sciences or natural resources.



Leadership skills and experience supervising a crew in field situations preferred.



Experience with ecosystem restoration/invasive species control/and herbicide application preferred.



Ability to obtain State Commercial Pesticide Applicators license.



Experience or ability to safely use and maintain tools and equipment.



Familiarity with Michigan flora and fauna helpful.



Experience with GPS/topographic/and aerial photos helpful.
